Horticulture & Animals
We have a friendly collection of hand reared animals including; Chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, cows, rabbits & ponies.
Visitors are able to participate in handling, feeding and caring for them. Some of the daily activities include feeding, cleaning out, grooming, goat milking, bottle feeding lambs, kids & calves and occasionally piglets too!
The market garden provides opportunities around growing food such as;
Vegetables, fruit, herbs & salad crops.
We offer training in seed sowing, raising and planting out in furrowed field, raised beds, poly tunnel and greenhouses. Also, the monitoring of produce including irrigation, feeding, pest and disease control, and other aspects of growing food.
We are also developing a sensory garden to be enjoyed by everyone in a safe environment, suitable for those with visual impairment or mobility problems. Incorporating a raft of smells, textures and colours to stimulate the senses.
